The Artist
In
1981, Val Shelton decided to try her hand in reproductions doll making. After
about 3 years of this, Val decided to try her hand in sculpting her own dolls,
much more challenging. She attended numerous seminars by well known doll
sculptors. She was encouraged by these teachers to continue working at it and
she would one day become a well known doll artists. Now look at her 24+
years later and still doing dolls.
In 1991
she decided to do vinyl dolls. Limited editions by Award Winning Artist Val
Shelton. With being nominated for numerous awards over the years. Winning the
Doll Awards of Excellence in 1993 and 1994 for her vinyl limited editions. For
Reasee and Rosie. Also winning numerous Idex Awards for her vinyl designs. In
1996 she was nominated by Doll Readers magazine, for the "Doty
Award" for her vinyl doll Pickles. This was such excitement for Val. Now
with the many requests for Val's work Val finds herself not wanting to work so
hard. She has decided to slow down a little and try to spend more time
designing and creating the wonderful dolls that so many have loved. Her love
for her work, and the desire for sculpting these precious little children
continue to inspire her work. WE ARE AN AMERICAN MADE, FAMILY OWNED
COMPANY. With her husband and her son by her side, encouraging her and working
so closely, and so hard with one another, we have overcome many obstacles, and
have now accomplished the ultimate. They are still here to offer you the doll
